hello there;

one thing I have observed with windows7 and unselecting a item with the f5key is,

if you go to desktop,

and you hear,

example, Microsoft outlook selected,
just pressing the f5key does nothing, however, if you hold down the f5key a few seconds the Microsoft outlook is no longer selected.
otherwise just use the ctrl+spacebar,

hope this helps.

What I have observed with Windows 7 and F5 is that it will only work if more than one item is selected. For instance, if only one item in, lets say, My
Documents is highlighted and F5 is pressed, nothing. But if at least two
items are selected and F5 is pressed, F5 works as it used to and there is no
longer anything selected.

Rick,
I noticed the same thing on Win7 64-bit with latest Jaws 12. It is
annoying.

Up until now, Windows M, has always minimized all apps, and placed the
focus on the desktop
Windows D, has always moved the focus to the desktop, and F5 would refresh

the screen and de-select all items.
Using Jaws version 11 or 12, on a Win7 64-bit system, this does not seem
to work.
Is this something with Jaws, or Windows, a bug or setting needing changed?
