Hi Melissa, I am using word XP, , there was no reference to PDF in the save as dialog. I think in order to create a PDF document I need additional software.

First, what word processor are you using to create the document? If it is Microsoft Word, there should be a "save-as" option, allowing you to change file formats. Also, if you highlight the file name in your documents folder, and press alt-F, there should be an option to create PDF. Let me know if this was helpful.
