Your DVDs should indicate on the package but if you are in doubt then drop the speed down. Just make sure you verify everything because fast won't matter if the image isn't created successfully. So check all of the boxes in that section. My DVD device and discs are both 16x- but discs are single layer, I think. So would it be correct that I need to drop down to the 8-1x write speed since the only listed 16 looks like it must be for a dual-layer DVD?
