Just to clear a thing up. Microsoft don't put copies of office on
your computer for free.
When you buy the computer. The store will give you a choice if you
want different programs and you get trial of 30 to 60 days and then
its buy me, or you can buy it for the store to put on.

Steve,
What do you mean by the basic office program that you get with
Windows? What exactly does it include? i assume this is another of
Microsoft's efforts to help us do our computing tasks well? Anyway,
I'm not sure what George meant about Office 2007 being buggy with
JAWS 11 but imagine it has to do with the ribbon interface, which
hopefully JAWS 12 will make easier. My husband is already using
Office 2007 so I will hopefully be able to install a copy on his
license. I feel i'm going to have a lot to learn at one time and
it's hard to anticipate how difficult it will be from other people's
reports of problems. Oh well, one day at a time I guess. I've been
anticipating this transition for about a year and have finally
decided to take the plunge now that I have the money saved rather
than wait for this PC to die completely.

Aaaaah. Don't believe everything you read.
Office 2007 works fine with either Jaws 11 or 12 on a Win 7
machine. The Office 2010 programs that you install also should
work, but the basic version of Office 2010 that you get with every
Win 7 pc won't work very well because it is an ad-based free
version that uses a web browser, so Jaws can't script it.

Office 2010.
20007 I found a bit buggy with JFW 11.

Hi everyone, Sorry I was not more precise with the subject line.
I have a couple of miscellaneous questions regarding migrating to
a new machine with Windows 7. Firstly, I am jumping from JAWS 8.0
to 12.0 and assume that I will need to do the authorization prior
to a clean install, right? I will not have access to the classic
startup or whatever it's called since I am only getting the Home
premium version, but are there any configuration changes I should
make so that JAWS and Windows will play well together? Also, does
the Windows setup include some version of IE or do I have to get
this elsewhere, and if so what steps are involved? I also need to
decide whether to go with internet Explorer 8 or 9 and office
2007 or 2010 and would like opinions on which email clients
people favor, keeping in mind that I'm used to Outlook Express
and have had no real chance to work with Windows Mail or
Thunderbird and am somewhat leaning away from Outlook. I think
those are all the questions for now, but there may be a few
others before I'm done, smile. Many thanks for all assistance.
