Some of that stuff I imagine does not need to be saved, so point taken. The 
talking installer will go back in with the next version unless I miss my 
guess.

If you remove shared components, my experience is that you also remove
the settings files of other versions as well as the talking installer.

hi. go through the add and remove programs and go from the newist
version
and work backwerds. and as for shaird compoanits un install those as
well.
