I am right with you Alan
I also downloaded the australian ones too like Daniel!
Sometimes, I try to set just the read all command in a different voice especially when I do demos to young children as it is a fast way to show the different voices

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Alternatives to Eloquence?

Hello Friends,
I have found the realspeak solo Direct voices that Freedom Scientific has
to offer absolutely free on their web site really fantastic.
You can download as many as you wish, and I have in my collection both the
American and English voices.

Once you adjust the speed and other options to your particular taste, I
think you will find them really great.

However for important work and such I still use Eloquence.

With Best Regards,
Alan

Before you decide to invest, check out the realspeak solo voices up on fs's website. they are quite decent and are proprietary as in they work only with jaws. you might find some that you like.

Hi all,

I'm sure this question will seem really basic, so my apologies in advance,
but I've finally decided to investigate adding a more natural sounding voice to my array of speech profiles. I'm not exactly dissatisfied with Eloquence,
but variety is the spice of life. I'm not that impressed with the SAPI
factory profile that's included with my Jaws 12 software, and I'm mwondering
what exactly I need to do to procure other options. Am I right to assume
that it's best to stick to voices that are SAPI5 compatible? Is there a
prohibitive price to for such voices? Once I've settled on one, how do I go
about installing it? Can I expect the same functionality as I experienced
with Eloquence?

Any help would be much appreciated.

All the best,
Michelle
