That only works for the main part of the keyboard, not on the tab, control or any other function key.
To get those keys to stop saying there name.
Do a insert + j, options, basic. you want the first choice tutor messages. Just arrow down to none and then ok.

Hi Kimmie:

To prevent the Tab and other keys from repeating when you press them, do the
following:

1. Press Insert+J to activate the JAWS window.

2. Go to the Settings Centre in the Utilities menu.

3. Under User, uncheck the Key Repeat checkbox and press Enter to exit the
Settings Centre.

4. Unload JAWS with Insert+F4 and reload it so that the Key Repeat change
takes effect. This will solve your problem.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Jaws 13 and tab.

Hi there. I notice now that I have jaws 13 that it's too fast on the tab
key, and skips a few things, so I'm having to shift tab to make sure I've
got the right choice. Any way of stopping that?
