Hi Lois,

Thank you very much for your input. It sounds like you are directing me to
the Columns option but, the problem is not in there. This is more of how to
choose what I want Jaws to read, or not read, in the, From: field, when I
open an email. Thanks again, take care.
Mike

Hi,

What you are looking for is under view. I don't have virtual ribbon turned
on, so the way I get there is, alt, arrow over to view and arrow down once.
Then, use the jaws cursor to get to view that is just before arrange. There
are several places that will say view. The one before arrange is what you
need. Arrow down from there to see the choices. I have it set to from,
subject, and date.

Good luck.

Lois

HI David,

Maybe what I'm asking cannot be done but, as far as the columns go, I have
From, Subject, Received, & Attachments checked & in that order. Who the
email is from, I want to hear but, just the name of the sender & not their
email address! Currently, when I open an email, I hear the senders name,
their email address, & the subject line. What I would like to hear, is
just their name & the subject line. I know a couple of people who, when
they open their emails, they are read the way I would like mine to read but,
we cannot find where this particular setting is! I cannot tell you all the
different things we've tried but obviously, we have not found it yet! LOL
LOL

I know I'm being picky but, this has become a personal challenge, just
because I know the setting is there, somewhere! Thank you very much for
your reply & all of your help. Take care.
Mike

Hello Mike;
If your just wanting to hear who the message is from, No subject, when it
was received, And not need to know if there's attachment, Do the following;

1, Open windows mail.

2, alt+v=view.

3, down arrow and enter on, columns.

4, now, you need, to arrow for example, subject, And then tab and enter on
hide, Now, the subject column is hidden.
You perform the same tasks with,
Received,
Attachment,
So, the only one showing is,
From.
Then tab to close or the okay button which ever it is.
Haven't used windows mail in some time.

Let me know if this is successful.

Hi All,

I'm running Windows Mail, Windows7 Home Premium, & Jaws 13. When I open an
email Jaws reads the person's name & email address. I would like to change
whatever setting for this so, Jaws will only read the person's name. For
the life of me I can't find where this setting is! Can anyone please tell
me where I can change this setting!? All help will be appreciated
immensely! Thank you all very much. Take care.
Mike
