I hear you, I have a wireless full keyboard I use with my netbook when I am running a RPG game at the shop (actually a coffee house these days).

but... unless they have a need/wish for wireless I'd go hard wire, why?

no batteries to die at just the wrong time, I carry a 20 pack of spare batteries (useable in both the keyboard and my MP3 player for traveling, lol!) in my gaming case, but even carrying a extra pair of batteries can be a nuisance when your trying to keep it effective but simple!

love my wireless, don't get me wrong, I can flip the comp around, use the screen to show displays of items to the sighted players and can if I wish set up a sound file for my wife who is the only other non-sighted player in the group and run it through the second sound card by selecting which player I play it with!

I'm thinking of putting a set of custom knobs on the sides of the keyboard and using a guitar strap to hold the thing at waist level when I stand up, so I can walk around and narrate while manipulating the computer and it's displays! grins

anyone got the name and location of an inexpensive set of wireless headphones that don't cost that which one does not wish to lose! and sounds half way decent?

laters,
I...

They sure do make some honey of these wireless keyboards. Mine is a
Microsoft wireless bluetooth 3000 with a range of 30 feet, works perfect
with the laptop. I just plugged in the tiny device into a USB, windows did
the rest..

I purchased this from Amazon.com for $40.00 around the holidays.

friends, if the driver got corrupted you could get a similar effect, yes get a USB keyboard, then run the diagnostics for the keyboard and its driver in
device manager, and go from there.

the other suggestions are valid... I'm not debating this, but I would check
the software first since it's fixable, run a chkdsk to make sure the drive
is working correctly and then run a scandisk to check the main OS files as
best as one can

if your used to the small laptop style keyboard they do make ones that are
similar to it for sale.

Donny,
Before you do anything else, see if you can get yourself a USB keyboard.
They aren't very expensive for the basic ones.
Next, plug it in and make sure that the Jaws setting for keyboard is on
Laptop, not Desktop.
Now, if you did spill something in there as some of the other members have
indicated, tha keyboard may be the only way you can make the computer
function.
If it doesn't work, you might have shorted out some of the primary control
circuits. Tbhat would be like holding down a key permanently since the
contacts open when you press a key.
If that has happened, that USB keyboard might not work. But Donny, it is
certainly worth a try.
Been there, done that if you know what I mean.

Sounds like something dripped on keys, but not locked.

The function keys and many specialty keys still work. Has she
accidentally locked it or something?
