Jaws versions from v12 does indeed work for reading ebooks via the free mainstream adobe digital reader version 2.0, for .epub and pdf files.
If one registers an Adobe ID, one can even authorise one's drm protected purchased books with the vendor ID within adobe digital reader and read them with jaws,, which I have tested, also said to work with Window eyes and NVDA. At the end of the getting started guide to be downloaded from the site, of which you'd have to google for the url, there is a list of shortcuts to work with windows and the Mac and also specifically for jaws. It is not something that I have looked in to at all but it seems like there may be a world of books out there that I could have access to?
