I had the same question about getting Vocalizer to indicate caps. Here is the reply I used to fix that issue. Works like a charm, BTW.

Instead, you will need to have capital letters preceded with "Cap". This has to be accomplished using the JAWS Speech and Sound Scheme settings. Freedom Scientific has a DAISY Training Book, which uses this specific example in their course material. *Don Marang* Vinux Package Development Coordinator - vinuxproject.org <http://www.vinuxproject.org/> -----Original Message----- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Sharon Gosling Sent: Friday, October 26, 2012 11:58 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws 14 vocalizer I have been using a combo of Tom and Jill and mostly I think I like them. I still hear my Eloquence guy for start menu, sort of like keeping in touch with an old friend. The main thing I don't like about the Vocalizer is no recognition of capital letters. Can someone tell me how to make them do this when going letter by letter? I know they can't do pitch changes but I thought that there was some way to make them say capital. Or did I just dream this? The other problem which is surmountable is that they mispronounce many words. Or maybe it is just that I previously taught Eloquence to pronounce words that Vocalizer can't access. But with the Dictionary manager I will teach them how to talk. After using them for a hour or so I must admit that I went back to eloquence.
