Message-ID: <000301cdb3d1$a6b292b0$f417b810$@rr.com> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Hi all, I just installed Tappan radio 1.57, and it's not working correctly. When I hit the search menus button, I have a list of choices, like, countries, genre, network, etc., but when I hit space bar or enter on any of those choices, there are no choices to choose from. I have had this program in the past, and I had lots to choose from and now nothing shows. Is this a jaws issue or tap an radio issue? How do I fix this? I am currently running jaws 13, latest update, jaws 7, on a 64 bit machine. Here is the reply I used to fix that issue. Works like a charm, BTW. ------ Jim Marks jimma...@mt.gov -----Original Message----- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Don Marang Sent: Tuesday, October 23, 2012 7:16 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Caps Indication with Vocalizer The Vocalizer voices, just like the RealSpeak Solo Direct voices are incapable of indicating capitalization using a raised pitch. Instead, you will need to have capital letters preceded with "Cap". This has to be accomplished using the JAWS Speech and Sound Scheme settings. Freedom Scientific has a DAISY Training Book, which uses this specific example in their course material. *Don Marang* Vinux Package Development Coordinator - vinuxproject.org <http://www.vinuxproject.org/> -----Original Message----- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Sharon Gosling Sent: Friday, October 26, 2012 11:58 AM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Jaws 14 vocalizer I have been using a combo of Tom and Jill and mostly I think I like them. I still hear my Eloquence guy for start menu, sort of like keeping in touch with an old friend. The main thing I don't like about the Vocalizer is no recognition of capital letters. Can someone tell me how to make them do this when going letter by letter? I know they can't do pitch changes but I thought that there was some way to make them say capital. Or did I just dream this? The other problem which is surmountable is that they mispronounce many words. Or maybe it is just that I previously taught Eloquence to pronounce words that Vocalizer can't access. But with the Dictionary manager I will teach them how to talk. After using them for a hour or so I must admit that I went back to eloquence. Here are the steps we took to solve the problem. We went to the following web site. http://update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/v6/vistadefault.aspx?ln=en-us We checked the agree button, We then allowed Microsoft to download a file to windows update to check for Microsoft office 2010 updates. Once we did this, it took us to our windows check for updates. Where it told us that there were 31 updates to be installed includeing the service pack 1 update. After downloading and installing all 31 updates, outlook 2010 is working beautifully. We want to thank Eric, and also we want to thank Kim in teck support for all her patience, also we thank all of you on this list for your help. We hope this solution will help others as well. God bless and thank all of you again.. ------------------------------ Message: 5 Date: Fri, 26 Oct 2012 20:49:14 -0400 From: "David Ferrin" <ow...@jaws-users.com> To: <jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com> Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Keyboard commands for Research It Message-ID: <A760689C96994396AF7FD03D5469A774@DavidLapTop> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" -----Original Message----- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Jerry Martin Sent: Friday, October 26, 2012 8:32 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: [JAWS-Users] Keyboard commands for Research It To All Listers: I am having a senior moment (and I don't mean in high school).
