Hello Rich,

You might want to check to see if your "line and paragraphs indication" is
turned off. Use JAWS key with V and type the word "line" (without the
quotes) in the search box. Use down arrow key to the "lines and paragraphs
indication" and if it is set to anything else but Off then press spacebar
until the Off option is chosen. Tab to the OK button and press spacebar.

The CTRL+Shift+8 keystroke toggles the state of the View All option so if
you used it thinking that the option was active when it wasn't then you
might have checked the option. To make sure it isn't checked, if you are
using Word 2007 or later use Alt followed by H and then use CTRL+right arrow
until you hear the Bullets button announced. Use tab key to the Show all
button and if it is not checked then press Alt key to leave the menu. If it
is checked use spacebar to remove the checkmark. In a version of Word
earlier than 2007 go into the tools menu and choose the Options choice. Go
to the View tab and make sure the Show All checkbox is not checked.

Take care.
