It is a d-link I had to have a lot of help installing. It took a verizon tech and my wife.first I could see the network as public. To change it we had to get into the router. They no longer have a basic password. The password was printed on the bottom of the router. After it was all installed, I could see that it was connected at 7.5 mb. My service is to be up to 7 mb. The fact that I am so close to the verizon switching office gives me the little extra speed. For dsl it is significantly faster than the 1 mg speed that I had. It was adequate for me since I only do a few big downloads a year.
