I am having similar issues using XP and JAWS 13 on my home computer.

I am suspecting bad RAM memory as it is an older computer. Also, I am not
convinced that my XP software is not corrupted in some manner but as it is on
it's end of life road. (grin) Another issue is that after all these years the
registry may just be to bottled up so a comlete re-build may just fix
everything.

Hi Steve,

There may be other reasons for your slow startup but, I can only report what
works on the 1 computer of ours that is having this 4 to 5 minute delay
before IE, OE, or Jaws will start.
Take care.
Mike

Mike,

I tried an earlier version of Jaws and still had the slow startup issue.

I also tried disabling realtime protection on MSSE, and didn't notice much
if any improvement in Jaws 14 or 15 Beta startup times.
