Hi Scott, I haven't noticed anyone addressing the basic point to using your "Caps Lock" on a laptop. Have you set your "Use Keyboard Layout" to Laptop? >From within the "Option" menu in JAWS, press enter on the "Basics..." Tab down approximately 7 times until you hear "Use Keyboard Layout". If you do not have the Laptop chosen, this is where you need to change to make the "Caps Lock" work. You can save it in 2 manners at this point. As the "Okay" is the default, you can hit enter or press tab until you hear "Okay" and then hit enter.
FYI, even if you now use a USB Keyboard with your laptop, the "Caps Lock" will continue to work as another JAWS Key. The "Insert Key" will continue to work also as the JAWS Key... HTH...
