Yes, the command line is chkdsk followed by the drive letter and then /f /r
The machine will not allow you to do it without re-booting so that it can 
unlock the drive, unfortunately you won't have any speech feedback, you will 
just have to wait for it to complete.
You can use the scandisk option from within Microsoft Windows if you like, look 
at the properties of the drive and then go to the tools tab.
Make sure that the scan forand recover bad sectores is ticked.
