Thanks, maybe at some point I accidently hit the Ctrl F1. I'm not
aware of any way to disable the ribbons but they are not that bad with
the virtual ribbon thing. If you get more info let me know. Again,
thanks.

Al

I'd like to add something else to Mike's suggestion.
There is a system based hotkey combination which will automatically
minimize and expand the ribbons. It is Control-F1.
This is a toggle command.
However, this does appear to be an issue with Outlook 2010. I believe
that you can save the Outlook environment in such a way that the
ribbon function is deactivated. I have often wondered if that might
not be better.
I'm not sure how to do that but I was told that you can choose to use
or not use the ribbon commands for each of the modules in Microsoft
Office.

Hi

One thing to check is are the ribbons minimized. Press alt+h to go to
the upper ribbon. Then right arrow until you hear Minimize the ribbon
button.
If this is checked, press space to uncheck it. JAWS won't read
minimized ribbons.

Having a strange issue, looking for suggestions. I have Windows 7 64
bit home Premium running MS Office Home & Business2010. I have latest
JAWS 15 and using virtual ribbons. All ribbon functions work fine in
Word and Excel and used to be fine in Outlook. Don't use them often in
Outlook but needed to the other day. When I hit the alt key it takes
me to the top ribbons. The file ribbon I can up and down arrow through
ok. I can also arrow across all the top ribbons. However when I go to
go to the lower ribbon in any of them, for instance view, it says
lower ribbon and then nothing. No matter if I arrow, tab, whatever
there is no speaking by JAWS. If I use the JAWS cursor I hear them so
I know they are there. I even tried other versions of JAWS with same
outcome. Is there a setting or something I have inadvertently changed?

Thanks,

Al
