I have the exact same problem there and have not yet been able to resolve it either. Ever since Yahoo "improved???" its websites, functions and operations, it has been a royal nightmare for moderators who use JAWS. In the past to delete a message in the Archives, I had only to check it and go to the delete button and it was a done deal. I still haven't figured out how to delete a single message without taking a whole bunch of them out in the process. I don't think Yahoo ever thought about us even though they are well aware of screen user users which seems so strange. If anybody moderates a yahoogroup and has figured out any solutions to ways of using the new interface, please share your discoveries with the rest of us? After entering on the management link, I did go to the jaws cursor and tried that. It read, but it didn't read anything in any kind of way that made sense and I still couldn't find what I was looking for. Good thought though.
