Or, pressing Control+F12 brings up the familiar open dialog while F12 alone
brings up the familiar Save As dialog.

If you use the keystroke of Alt with CTRL and function key 2 you will get
the familiar Open dialog box.

I said in a previous message that although the startup excel issue was fixed
ctrl o still brought up backstage view. However, I've been playing around
with the backstage view and I think I got the hang of it somewhat. It's a
learning curve but I will get there. (smile) At least I know how to find and
open files now.
