Hi

This is probably caused because some other application, usually started when
the computer boots, is stealing alt+n before it can get to IE 11. In
Windows 7 I saw this problem where alt+n did nothing in IE 11 and also alt+s
and alt+t wouldn't do anything in any application that I started manually.
Since these are application shortcut keys, and not Windows shortcut keys, I
don't know of a method to determine which application is grabbing them
first. I used the shotgun method and disabled as much as I thought was safe
from starting automatically in cCleaner and luckily my problem went away.
Unfortunately, I don't know which startup entry that I eliminated resolved
the problem. You can disable applications from starting in cCleaner on the
tools tab and then selecting startup. If you don't have cCleaner, you can
use MSConfig to do this also. But I have not used MSConfig.

If you can't cause alt+n to get to IE, the following work around can be
used. When you start a download in IE, instead of pressing alt+n, route
JAWS to PC and due a Page Down. Then when you do a SayLine on that bottom
line, or maybe a line or 2 up, you will hear the information bar which will
say something about open or save. So right or left arrow with the JAWS
cursor until you get to the open or save button and left click with either
JAWSkey+numpad slash or JAWSkey+num row 8 if you're using the laptop
keyboard layout.
