I wonder if this is something like Winamp's agent, which was considered to
be spyware?

Subject: [JAWS-Users] System & Active Monitoring,How To Disable It In
CCleaner's Latest Update

Hi All,

For those of you that have noticed the newest feature in the last CCleaner
update & don't like it, here are the steps to disable it. Running J13 thru
J15, XP & Win7.

Piriform / CCleaner recommends you have Active Monitoring running on your
machine to allow CCleaner to keep an eye on your system and ensure you have
the latest cleaning definitions.

If you'd like to turn System & Active Monitoring off, please follow these
steps:

1. Open CCleaner, tab to, Options, press the spacebar to open, tab to,
Monitoring, & press the spacebar to open.

2. Tab to, Enable system monitoring, uncheck this box, tab to, Enable Active
Monitoring, uncheck this box, & spacebar the, Yes button, when the
confirmation dialogue appears

CCleaner will now no longer appear in your system tray after closing.

HTH
Take care.
Mike
