The keystroke Mike gave, that would usually work, to maximize the Ribbon, is ctrl+F1.

Mike,
I am using Outlook 2010 and I tried the steps you said below in your email by using the shift+F10 and did not find minimized or maximized Can you please give these directions again. For example when I hit the ALT I land on home then I did the shift+F10 then arrow down and did not find what you said should be there.

Any help would be appreciated.

Ed

Hi Lenny,

Here's something you can try to make navigating the Office 2010 ribbons a little easier but, make sure the virtual ribbons option is unchecked in Word's Jaws options, Insert + V.

To navigate ribbons more efficiently the ribbons need to be maximized. The keystroke is, control + F1. This keystroke is a toggle so, this keystroke will maximize & minimize. To check if the ribbons are minimized / maximized do the following:
1. Press the, Alt key, to open the ribbons.
2. Open the context menu with either the application key or, shift + F10. 3. Arrow up or down to the, Minimize, option. If, Minimize, is checked, the ribbons are minimized Pressing, enter, on this checkbox, will uncheck it & close the context menu & your menues will now be maximized.

HTH
Take care.
Mike

Well, I learned my lesson about using other programs to change views. When I first installed office 2010 a few years ago there was a program that changed the ribbons to work like word 2003. I can find no way to reverse it. I was on with a Microsoft tech for about 3 hours and she could not fix it. She is escalating the problem. She located the program and uninstalled it. It did not correct the problem. did a repair on office 2010 with same unfavorable results. And as I did last night uninstalled office 2010 and re installed it and the problem is still there. She did find a work around for me. To do an insert in word I can use alt N instead of alt I. She will be getting back to me in 48 to 72 hours. I will never again install something that changes
the way a program works.
