That worked and it keeps outher auto features working. It also showed me some other options that will be of help.

The instructions said to tab to automatic bulleted lists and uncheck it then to automatic numbered lists and uncheck that. When I tab to those selections it never turns off the bullets and there is no place to uncheck numbered lists. I don't know if JAWS is missing something or the instructions are not complete.
