You have to have the word doc open and the cursor in the cell, of the row and
column, of the table you wish to have the row and Colum titles read.
Incert+V to open Quick settings.
Note: Tapping the space bar, will change the settings, in the quick setting
list and enter will save your settings.
Move down to Document-Specific Settings
Arrow down to Document-Specific Settings, make your selection, it must not be
set to off.
Arrow down to Table titles and press the spacebar to make your selection and
press enter.

Now press Incert+space bar, then T for table layer.
Now you can read the table with only the arrow keys, when you press any other
key you will come out of Table reading mode.
You can also read tables with Control+ALT+ arrow keys, or tab through a table,
when tabbing you move left to right, to the end of the row, then move to the
first cell in the next row.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Word tables: JAWS 16 Labeling/ Reading column headings

Hello,
In Word 2013 with JAWS 16 is there a way for the developer of the Word file to
add labels to the column headings in a table, so JAWS reads the column heading
when moving around from cell to cell within the table?
FYI: Keystroke I use to move around in tables is:
Control-alt and the arrow keys

If yes, how can I label the column headings correctly so JAWS reads them.

I would prefer these table settings to be set in the Word file if possible so
the Word file can be shared with other JAWS users so they will have no problem
reading and editing the tables.
Thank you,
Bill
