HI guys
Where can I download the special Dropbox program you're talking about on here that notifies you automatically via sounds when files are uploaded/downloaded? and also have any of you done an audio podcast on how it sounds/works? With this special Dropbox program, are there special keys to go directly to the Dropbox area, rather than by going through the Notification area first via Insert+f11? Thanks for info.

Hi Steve,

To add to what Valiant86 is saying:
Press, Insert / Jaws Key + F11, to open the system tray& arrow down to see
if the Speak Dropbox& Dropbox icons are showing. If they are not showing
in the system tray you will need to change their settings in Notifications.
Below are various steps on how to do this. For Dropbox& Speak Dropbox
icons set them to, Show Icons In Notifications.

From: CrisM

To get the icons to show up in the system tray, go to your desktop, tab down
three times till you land on Notifications or something, then press the
applications key and press enter on the customize notifications icon option.
From there, you'll be able to move and and select which icons you want to
appear in the system tray. I had this same issue and someone on here
suggested this solution to me and it worked.

Open the start menu, and type the following in the search box:
notification
In the results, you should find, notification area icons, make sure that
this is selected, and press enter.
When the dialogue opens, you will probably hear Jaws say, okay button, so
just tab until you get into the list of applications.
Each time you tab, you will be on a different application, and using the up
and down arrows will select the behavior of that icon.
When you have finished making your changes, simply tab to the okay button,
and press enter to close the dialogue.

You might have figured it out already, but if not, here is what you can do
in Windows 7. After setting JAWS to start in the system tray, move to the
notification area using Windows key + B. Find the Notification Chevron
button
and press spacebar on it. Use up arrow key to the Customize choice and
press enter key. If focus moves away from the notification area while using
up or down arrow key, move back to it using Windows key + B, and if
necessary
use the chevron button again. After using the Customize button, use tab key
several times until you find "Application file for JAWS." As you tab across
the window, you will find combo boxes for various programs. Each combo box
has three choices. In the combo box for the application file for JAWS, use
the up arrow key until the choice for showing JAWS in the notification area
is
in focus. Tab to the OK button and press spacebar. The JAWS icon should
now be in the notification area.
Take care.

Are you saying it can't find the Dropbox Icon? If so that may be because
your dropbox Icon actually isn't there. Either because Dropbox isn't running
or because you have notification area set to hide it in one situation or
another. Can you find the Dropbox Icon normally? Like if you press windows+b
and arrow over the tray Icons is Dropbox one of the choices?

Hi Steve,

Do you have Dropbox starting with the computer? If so, the Jaws or
Narrator
voice will announce when Dropbox is starting. Which voice are you
using?
Also, which version of Dropbox are you running? The current version is

3.4.6.
Take care.

Hi.
It should be able to do that already. When you get an "all files up to
date"
tip, it even makes a different sound than it made when it was beginning
the
transfer. When the upload or download starts, it should make a dling
sound
and then tell you uploading , or downloading, then the file name or how
many
files there are. Of course, this can all be turned off. Is it not
working
like that for you? If not, it'd be the first such case I know about

I tested that by selecting all the keys after I highlighted run MRU
and deleting them. It did indeed clear my run history. I think
CCleaner might be able to do it. The registry trick for doing that
though isn't too awful shabby.
