Thanks, Rick. I just don't want it coming in without me knowing it. This is what I fear. There are some programs that seem to update automatically somehow. Thanks. All the best! Hi Liuda, If you don't want it then there is no need to download it. This is an optional update, and is not required by Microsoft,it is just being offered to those who wish to upgrade Windows, and it is not going to take place for at least 2 months anyway. The offer stands for one year after the public release. I am sure there will be more information between now and then regarding the download and installation process. I am confused by this thread and downloading the program. If I don't want to use it, should it still be downloaded in an Update? Perhaps should I not allow it to be downloaded at all? What is your best suggestion? If it is best that I do not have it downloaded, where exactly do I go to stop this from happening and how should the setting read? Thanks always . You will know when it's installing, and you should have speech for that, up to the first re-boot of the computer. You just wait awhile, the computer may reboot several times, and then when it has settled down, the install can be finished using Narrator. If I were you, I would wait until some others have gone thru the process and tested the waters for you. lol I have already looked at the preview, so I probably will not install Windows 10 for awhile, maybe not until Jaws 17 has been released and FS has a handle on the new system. However, this is an optional update, so you may be given the choice of installing or not. Because I like to know what is being installed on my systems, I have Automatic Updates, set to notify me of updates, but let me choose when to download and install them. Windows 10 is a 3gb download, so I want to know when it is being downloaded. For more specific information, folks should consult the Microsoft website about Windows 10. If I select yes. What this mean? Will it attempt to download without asking? I figure we will need to wait until jaws 17 for those who are using jaws to use 10. -----Original Message----- From: Rick Justice Sent: Monday, June 01, 2015 2:24 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] Windows 10 in the system tray Hi Jorge, If you are referring to the "Get Windows 10", in the system tray, this is an offer from Microsoft to reserve your copy of Windows 10 when it becomes available. As has been stated by Microsoft, this is a free upgrade to Windows 10 for all users of Windows 7, 8 and 8.1. You can get more information by pressing enter on the icon, and choosing from the resulting menu.
