That will work to take out most formatting but if it is only headings and you want to keep the rest, there is the other way. If you want to take out all formatting you can also go to the menus, Home arrow down to the ribbon and tab until you come to the clear formatting button and press enter. It will get rid of most formatting but you will have to do the font and font size as well as any other you had. Reminder: I am using MS Word 2007 so the layout may be different.

This does not remove everything, for example it won't remove hyperlinks. But it will remove heading styles and all numbering. The numbers will disappear if they were made with Word's automatic numbering feature. What Control Shift N does is format all the text in the Normal Style. If you haven't modified the normal style this will work. I use it all the time for text I've copied from somewhere. But if you want to get rid of all formatting, use the notepad method Al recommended. As far as I know, there isn't a shortcut key to do that or maybe I just don't know it. -----Original Message----- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Alan Robbins Sent: Sunday, June 28, 2015 12:19 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: [Bulk] Re: [JAWS-Users] Help with Headings Michelle, You could select all from the Word doc and then paste into notepad. This will remove all formatting I believe. Then, copy from Note Pad and paste into a fresh Word doc and format as you like. I am updating a Word document, due to changes, has headings all over the place and not in good numerical order. In my attempt to correct it, I am having problems correcting the heading numbers in some areas. Some will let me change them and some will not. Is there a global type command that will take all headings away and I start fresh? If not, can I get suggestions to correct my problem? I am using Microsoft 2013 and JAWS 15.
