So far, you are making sense. I wanted to forward a birth announcement last
night, and when I put in my cousin's first two letter her name came up. Then
when I wanted to send it, a user on one of our lists name came up. Finally,
I deleted that name, knowing I could get it again, so tried again, and the
one that had been right under the list user's name came up, so I started
tabbing and tabbing, and finally got out of that and think I got it sent to
only my cousin. The other person is in England, so I might never know, since
when she gets back home might just delete all her e-mails.

Thanks for help.

OK, here's what I do. First I open outlook. Then to send an email, I press,
ctrl n. That brings up an email and jaws announces , to. So then you know
that you have to type in the name or email address you want this email to go
to. I start typing the name of the person that I want to send the email to,
Elaine, for instance. When I have entered , the letter, E, outlook tries to
fill in the email address for me. If the wrong one comes up I use the arrow
keys to search for her. If Elaine is not one of my email contact cards and I
have never sent her an email then she will not come up. Then I have to make
a contact card for her. To make a contact card you must be in your outlook
list, then you type ctrl, Y to bring up the contact card and fill it out.
Then the next time you want to send her an email, she will be filled in
your, to, box as soon as you start to type her name. Here's the thing, the,
to, box should be automatically filled in for you if you have a contact
card or if you have ever sent her a email to her. For instance, if I have
replied to an email that you sent me, then when I want to send you an email,
I just start typing your name in the, to, box, because outlook conveniently
keeps a list of all of the emails that I have replied to your name will
come up. Nice, isn't it? I don't know if this all makes since to you. But if
you would like to contact me off of the list I will try to explain it
better. LeDon.

OK, maybe I followed the directions wrong. I hit Control N to start a new
message, then Control Y, but it did not bring me to the fields to fill in
for a new e-mail address.

I am overjoyed to hear about Control Shift L. I need my lists back now!
Thanks.

Best from,

Carolyn

Yes, your instructions were very helpful. Thank you. Do you know how to add
contacts to a group or distribution list once you have created it? For
instance, if you have a board of directors you are on, and want to send
everybody an email, how can you create a distribution list and add all of
them to it? I know control shift L is how you create a list, but how do you
add people to it? Thank you.
