It is something that comes on the new program that, when you open a word document gives you these choices about thank you cards and various grid type operations you might want to apply. So you always have to hit Cntl N for new document to get into Document One in Word unless you disarm those options. I did not know what it was at first, only that it was an inconvenience to me. Use Alt+F followed by Alt+T to go into Word options. 2. Press S to move to the Save category. 3. Tab to the checkbox "don't show the backstage when opening or saving files" and press spacebar to check it. 4. Tab to OK and use spacebar. If you also don't want the backstage opening when you open word do the following: 1. Press Alt+F followed by Alt+T to go into Word options. 2. The first category is general. Tab across the options in this category. When you get to the "Show the start screen when this application starts" checkbox use spacebar to uncheck it if it is checked. 3. Tab to OK and press spacebar. 4. Close Word and open it again to make sure your options stayed as you set them. If not then you might try restarting your system. Take care. Brian Lee Take care. But, I ran into something called back stage view. How do I find the check box to uncheck the back stage view? I saw a post about it several months ago. But, did not file or save the information. So, I know y'all know the answer. Thanks.
