I just went through it - go to JAWS on your Desktop, then to Utilities, then to
settings then to text processing. It is in text processing that you get your
speak dollar. Mike might be able to explain better, because sometimes, I kind
of fish, but if you don't hear from him soon, I think this would get you there.

Best from,

Carolyn

Hi Gerald,

Do the following:
1. Open the Settings Center, & press, control, shift, + D, to open Settings
Center default all applications.
2. Arrow down to, Text Processing, & right arrow to open.
3. Arrow down to, Number & Date Processing, & right arrow to open.
4. Arrow down to, Speak Dollars not checked, & press the spacebar to check this
box.
5. Tab to, Apply, press the spacebar, tab to, Okay, press enter to save your
changes & close.
HTH
Take care.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] JAWS Pronunciation of Monetary Amounts

On my old XP computer running JAWS 9, monetary amounts were announced
correctly. For instance $86.75 was announced by JAWS as “Eighty six dollars
and seventy five cents”. But on my refurbed Windows 7 machine running JAWS 15,
this amount is announced as “Dollar eighty six point seven five”. How can I
adjust JAWS 15 to announce monetary amounts in the latter format rather than as
a string of characters? I could not find anysettings in the Settings Center to
accomplish this. Thanks.

Gerald
