It all boils down to limited resources. No matter how much your system has under the hood so to speak when everything tries accessing an internet connection which as we all know is probably the slowest component of your computing experience things are going to bog down until programs like Adobe just to name one gets happy and finishes what it has to do. I've noticed even with 8 GB of memory on a couple of systems it can happen that things just take care of business in their own time. The less the memory the more the lag on the system.

I know of somebody who has 2 GB of memory on a 32 bit system, trust me there is a lot of spitting and sputtering on that thing before it settles down.

Kevin,

Would this be right after boot up, or at any time? Sometimes, JAWS was
stalling on me shortly after it restarts after log in, and I have discovered
that it was because of other items starting up at the same time from the
start up options in Task manager. Once I had disabled some of the
unnecessary items there, JAWS stopped doing this.
This has happened at times other than start up when a program has tried to
update itself. The automatic updates for software like Adobe and some others
that appear in the start up options can really cause JAWS to go berserk.

I’m using windows 10 and latest build of jaws
I’ve been experiencing stalls of jaws at times and the only way I can revive
jaws is alt+tab until there is jaws speech again. would this be something
with jaws and win 10 that only FS can fix
Email is golden!!!

You don't have to be crazy to run a list like this, but it does help.
