I suggest instead doing a reinstall of Outlook Express, which is nice and simple with JAWS, and if it had been working okay for her, why switch? I would have her contact the Microsoft disability services office. They can remote in to her computer and just handle all this. In closing, I suspect her contacts and data should all still be there, that it is just the software that is messed up.

A friend of mine has been using outlook express, which has become unusable
on her computer. Can neither send nor receive e-mails. Everything else seems
to be working on her computer. Internet connection is fine, and she uses
Frontier.

Will going to Outlook 2010 solve her problem? Secondly, will she be able to
import her contacts, and import all of the outlook express e-mails?

Can the Microsoft accessibility Help Desk assist her in that importing
effort?
