I believe, and someone on list correct me if I'm in error,
removing shared components also removes any customization
you have done to Jaws. Now if you are using JAWS with all
default settings and it is the only program you have from
Freedom Scientific, then I guess it would not make a
difference.

I have never understood why you should not uninstall the
shared components.
If the only version on the computer is uninstalled and you
install a different version on a computer with no Jaws
installed on it is this not like a new installation? Tom

That is what I would do. Just don't uninstall the shared
components

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Updating Jaws Version 17.0.1010

I tried to update Jaws Version 17.0.1010 to Jaws version
17.0.1214. At about 70 percent I got a message saying that
the installation could not be completed and that I would
have to run the repair of Version 17.0.1010 and try the
update again. As I have Version 17.0.1214 in my download
folder could I just uninstall Version 17.0.1010 and install
Version 17.0.1214? Tom
