Subject: [JAWS-Users] Instructions For Getting Rid Of "Get Windows 10"message

Hello.

I received permission to post the following set of instructions for getting
rid of the "get Windows 10" message from a member of the JFW support list.
Specifically, the instructions come from Adrian Spratt, and seem very easy
to follow:

1. Begin by typing "Command Prompt" in the Win7 search window. Wait a
moment for JAWS to settle. Maybe arrow down once and up arrow once to ensure
focus is on that prompt. But don't do any more arrowing than that.

2. Now, use your applications key, and arrow down to "run as
administrator." On my system, it's three times. Press enter.

3. Run the command prompt window with Win key-r.

4. Type or copy:

WUSA /UNINSTALL /KB:3035583

5. Follow the on-screen prompts, and when complete type exit to close
Command Prompt.

That should stop the Win10 notification from appearing until the next
Windows automatic update.

It will also put the nasty file in your critical or important updates when
you commence the second stage, aimed at ensuring the file is not included in
the next automatic update.

To hide Windows Updates from installing it again:

Go to Windows Update via Windows search and press enter.

Tab to "Change settings" and press enter.

Check the third item down, something to the effect of "Do it myself." Tab to
OK.

Tab to something like "Critical or important update available" and press
enter.

If the file is there, right-click and down arrow to hide. Press enter, then
OK.

Tab back to "Change settings." Select "Automatic." Tab to OK.

Alt-F4 out of the dialog.
