Hi Wayne, The original poster ask for a shortcut key to perform the task, and that is what I gave. Once the shortcut and associated keystroke are set up, there is nothing to type , simply perform the keystroke, select the volume you want, and close out of the volume control. There are multiple ways of doing anything in Windows, and each person has their preferences, this is just one of them. For instance, I don't use your method or any shortcut, I simply use the volume key on my keyboard.

One of the choices is Adjust system volume and I hit enter on that choice. I then arrow to the volume level I want and hit enter and it's done. It is much quicker than this description. This will open the volume control, and at that point you can simply use the up and down arrow keys, or the page up and down keys to change the volume level. Once you have the volume where you want it, simply alt + F4 to close the dialogue. Use caution when assigning a keystroke to your shortcut so that it does not conflict with a keystroke in another application. If you need help in creating a shortcut, let us know.
