Mike, for the future, the alt+spacebar c or killing the process for the program's executable would also close the stubborn program.

Thank you very much for your help.  In this instance, for whatever reason,
the, Alt + F4, keystroke didn't work, & the only way this person was able to
close the calculator was rebooting the computer.  Thanks again.

If I accidentally turn on the calculator in Windows 7 on my Dell laptop, I
always get out of it with a simple Alt f4.

The weird thing is that Jaws does not give you the standard exit
announcement, but the command does seem to exit out of the calculator for
me.
