I haven't used win 7 in centries but using my method would still work.

1. start menu
2. in the search box type jaws
3. Locate the result that says utilities jaws *** the asterix would mean
the version number for example, utilities jaws 17. Then press enter.
4. Press "e" without the quotes until you hear explore my settings and
press enter.
5.
You will now be in the enu folder, so CTRL A to select all, copy it with
CTRL C, and paste it with CTRL V in the location of your choice.

As far as having to reinstall jaws, whatever your friend is doing, if jaws
isn't there, then yes, reinstall it and go back to the enu folder and paste
what you selected earlier to regain the settings you once had.
I
'm sure someone will correct me but give that a shot.

I would just back up the jaws settings.
I've cleaned my hd and rid of junk several times and just out of habbit,
backed up my jfw settings.

My PC has a great deal of junk on it, so a friend is going to clean my hard
drive, and would like to know if jaws, the only program I've installed,
needs to be back upped?
