Thanks, the control 1 didn;'t seem to do anything in Microsoft Excel 2010 for 
some odd reason.
I Managed to use alt+o then c and a, a guess for auto width selection and it 
seems to have worked and re-formatted the colum.

Not sure if you got an answer yet, but here's what I do in excel 2010. Press 
control and the #1 on the number row. You can then arrow down and perform 
various column formatting functions. Oh, and be sure to select the cells before 
pressing control 1.
