I've figured out how to open Bookshare books with FSReader. Here's the answer, for anyone interested. My problem was understanding how FSReader's "open" dialog identifies DAISY files within folders. It proves to be a two-stage process. First, once you've gone into FSReader's "open" dialog with control-o, you browse to the folder and select it. Then you go back through the dialog looking for the file identified by FSReader within that folder as the one FS Reader will handle as a DAISY file. I got this explanation from the DAISY Consortium's FSReader Quick Start Guide at the following webpage: http://www.daisy.org/daisypedia/fsreader-quick-start-guide

I should have clarified that I've followed the approaches you both describe. So let me be clearer. When I unzip the Bookshare file, I get a folder, and in turn the folder consist of several files. I assume all these files are needed for FS Reader to read the book as a DAISY book. But when I select the folder in the FS Reader open dialog, nothing happens. So, can you tell me what to do once the folder appears? Should that work for the open dialog, or do I select one of the files within that folder? -----Original Message----- From: JAWS-Users-List [mailto:jaws-users-list-boun...@jaws-users.com] On Behalf Of Ward Dudley Sent: Thursday, September 08, 2016 8:29 PM To: jaws-users-list@jaws-users.com Subject: Re: [JAWS-Users] FS Reader and Bookshare Hi Adrienne, Unzip the book. I usually then edit the title. Start FSReader. Control O. Tab to "Look In". Enter. Tab tothe folder that the unzipped book is in. Enter.
