Like Jean, I use the CanoScan scanner. However, my use is limited to scanning business documents via Kurzweil, by choice.

That's a very good price. Glad it worked out so well for you. I still have
my Epson GT-2500 with the ADF and duplex capability. It's a beast, but I'll
use it until it crashes.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] A REALLY DECENT SCANNER

Hi group,

First of all, Merry Christmas to everyone.

Santa brought me a really nice flatbed scanner for Christmas. I didn't know
that they were still made.

This is an Epson Perfection. It has quite a few advantages over the older
scanners I have used.

First of all, the Epson Perfection no longer requires separate AC
attachments.

The disk holding the drivers will install automatically. It adds an icon to
your desktop for their built-in software package. However, it works quite
well with Open Book.

The scanner is small, light and very quiet.

For some scanning operations, I still prefer a flatbed scanner over the
Pearl Camera. What's more, this thing is now on sale at Best Buy for under
$100.
