Cristobal:

I found where to switch my g-mail account to basic HTML view on the g-mail
web site, and discovered that the folders are much easier to navigate this
way.

However, I went into my drafts folder, and discarded all drafts; but the
drafts still seem to be stuck in my Outlook 2016 drafts folder.

This now seems like an Outlook problem, and I'm not sure how to solve it
from here, since working within my g-mail account itself did not seem to
correct things.

If you find the standard view for Gmail too difficult to navigate, you
can always switch to the basic HTML page and access the drafts folder
from there.

Mr. Ed:

I tried the Shift delete key method several times for each of the three
e-mails that are now permanently stuck in my Outlook 2016 drafts folder, and
the messages keep re-appearing.

In other words, they just don't go away!

I have also tried going to the gmail web site, and deleting the messages
from my personal g-mail account. But, I find the web site itself difficult
to navigate, and I have difficulty consistently getting to where I need to
go to delete those messages.

I guess my only option at this point would be to disconnect from the
internet, and see what happens from there. That just doesn't seem like it
should be necessary, though!

Hi Tom,
Have you tried doing a shift + delete key. Then you should get a message box
that comes up asking you if you want to permanently delete the message.
Click yes and it should be gone.

This works when I've got a message stuck in the outgoing folder.
If you're on wifi, just disable the wireless on your machine and if you're
hard wired, depending on what system you're running, go into adaptor
settings or network (maybe someone else can give you specific
instructions) and disable the connection. Then go back and try to delete
the messages and hopefully after they're gone, go back and enable your
internet.

How exactly can I do this without interrupting internet service for the rest
of the household?

Am not sure why Outlook refuses to permanently delete these messages.

The problem only occurs with the drafts folder.

Try disabling your wi-fy/internet connection and then delete.

George:

I did this, and the messages re-appeared in my Outlook 2016 drafts folder!

This, even after I opened them from my in-box, and deleted them.

Hello,
I whip this trick from my magic bag,
Open the mail, shift tab back to the too field, back space the address and
add your own, tab back to the message body and send it to your self.

Subject: [JAWS-Users] Problem With Permanently Removing E-mails From Drafts
Folder In Outlook 2016

Hello.

I have just experienced the recurrence of a nagging problem in Outlook 2016.

I seem to be unable to remove items from my drafts folder.

I can move them to my trash folder, and supposedly permanently delete them
from that folder, but when I go back to my drafts folder, the original draft
e-mails re-appear.

Sometimes, I can correct this situation by going into the drafts folder in
my personal g-mail account and eliminating the messages that way, but this
does not always work either.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? And, if so, how did you ultimately
get rid of those stubborn draft messages?
