Audible has professional actors reading their books. Most Audible books are commercial audiobooks but somee are actually commissioned by audible. JAWS, thankfully, does not read Audible books nor is their a need for it to read them. NBookshare is another horse entirely. The plus about bookshare is that it comes in text, with speech and it's cheap. I've found its coverage not generally to my liking. Audible is only speech, and should be considered more of a bookstore than the library that bookshare is. Bookshare's original purpose, I think, was to provide educational materials while Audible's is to make money by providing a wide variety of reading materials.

I get by with Audible and NLS just fine; they supply me with more books to my liking than I can possibly read. By the way, Audible's Platinum subscription provides 24 books a year for $229, less than 10 bucks per book.

Does audible just have books with the strange speaking voice, or can you
read their books with jaws?

I've been using audible regularly for about 5 months now and find it's
great. There's some obscure titles it doesn't have, but that's not
surprising.

When displaying search results, They don't use headings, so I do a control f
for the word wish. Other than that, it's pretty straight forward.

Both are extremely accessible, however, Audible is an audiobook
service, and Bookshare is solely and E-book service. By E-book, I
mean you can download in text format, E-Pub format and synthetic
speech. I don't believe that Audible has E-book service, as I am a
member, and have never seen that.
They say you can get the Kindle edition of the audiobooks they sell,
but there is a separate cost for that.

Either way, good luck on what ever option you choose.

Hi All,
I am considering joining an eBook service. Are Audible and Book Share
both accessible? Any other comments about them would be appreciated.
Thanks,
George
