Hi All,

I'm at a loss to explain the following problem, so who best to turn to than
this list.

Apparently, when I go into the Windows Update and try to update my computer
the following happens.

1. The window opens up and does the customary thing of going to the Windows
Update site, however Jaws will not focus on the window. I can't even click
on a part of the window with the Jaws cursor and then arrow through the
page.

2. After I've clicked on the Windows Update shortcut in my start menu, the
update starts automatically. It does not give me the option of selecting
which option to scan under, whether it be express or custom, it just starts
scanning in express mode without my say so.

3. When the express scan is finished, when I try to focus on the window to
go back to the update home page, Jaws won't let me focus on the window and I
can't go into my option to scan for custom updates.

I have tried the following remedies...

1. I've checked my Jaws settings for say all and html and all my other
settings, but nothing looks out of the ordinary.

2. I've checked and re-checked my IE settings, both regular and advanced,
and, again, nothing looks out of the ordinary.

3. I've also tried to do a Jaws restore, resetting the Jaws settings to the
default settings and nothing has helped.

Does someone have the settings for IE and Jaws with IE that I can compare to
my settings?

I have not checked the Jaws page or jfw lite, nor have I checked your page,
David, so forgive me this trespass.

If anyone can help, I'd greatly appreciate it.

Victor
