I thought I'd change the subject line to reflect what this thread is 
starting to talk about.

In any case, I seem to remember that, while the settings that FS recommended 
were just that, recommended settings, only the display settings in terms of 
screen size, appearance and colour were mandatory if you wanted Jaws to 
function properly.  The classic style of use was just a recommendation for 
easier use, especially when Jaws 6 and later versions came out and they 
started supporting the various configurations for display settings.

In  fact, one of the settings they recommended we use was the classic start 
menu, but I know some people who preferred to use the XP start menu because 
they found it easier to use then the classic start menu.

I, myself, prefer the classic start menu and have always felt that way.
