Hey David,
What I did is use the jaws dictionary and put in the sign I don't want to hear
and put in a space in the reply line.

Subject: [jaws-users] Thanks I got my question answered.

Hi list members, i'm using outlook express version 6. P.S. how many letters
should be able to fit in the subject line of a message? I'd like to make this a
little longer because sometimes the subject line is cut off. If there is a way
to change this, i'd greatly appreciate it.

I still ask the other question of there being any shortcuts that we don't
know about as well as being able to get rid of > symbals in messages for good.
Thank you.
