You may need to look at the Power settings in Control Panel to see if your computer has had Hibernate mode turned off. I always keep mine set that way because I frankly don't like to use it. For example, I shut my computer down (or thought I did) after turning on Hibernate mode in the Power options--the music played and everything--but it really went into Hibernate mode and didn't shut down. I got real confused trying to restart it because JAWS didn't come back and I had to hold the power button on the computer in until it forced a full reboot.
