I've been doing a performance comparison of the Jaxen, Xalan and TagBox XPath engines, the results of which can be seen here: http://www.pingdynasty.com/~mars/xpath/ The study is based on the work done previously by the dom4j people. What i wanted to do was to compare the TagBox XPath engine with Xalan and Jaxen, but found that there was such a huge difference in performance of different versions of Xalan that i included two of them.
