Eric, I am really sorry, but your "workaround" doesn't change the fact, that
you are in fact using nested groups with multiplicity > 1. The error message is
not what I'd expect (and could in fact be handled as an error), but that doen't
change the fact, even if you'd try to reduce your schema even further:
