Simon, Do you run an EOM process? If so, have it create and verify the part file creation for the next month, and send an email if the verify fails. If you don't do an EOM, set it up in whatever substitutes for cron in Windows, or have someone do it manually each month (least preferable). This way your normal transaction processing routines won't have to spend any time checking for the existence of the file. Make sure to set up a "catch-all" part file so that you won't lose any data if for some reason the real part file doesn't get created.
